LFFP Partner School Earns Award for Innovations in Catholic Education

Since partnering with Little Friends For Peace in September, Saint Francis International School in Silver Spring, Maryland, has reaped a vast harvest of the fruits of peace and has been awarded for its efforts with an ICE Award for innovations in Catholic education.

The school began implementing the LFFP curriculum by first training its staff in the methods and language of peace. It then brought peace class to the third, fifth and eighth graders, the last of which communicated their new skills to the pre-kindergarten classes.

With a community peace pole and general commitment to the mission shared by LFFP, the school is surely living up to its name and living out the prayer of St. Francis: "Make me a channel of Your peace."
