Team Lead Positions
Team Lead (18+)Under the supervision of their Team Lead, Counselors help lead groups of 10-14 campers during their day rotating through activities such as art, games, yoga, nature, and more. Counselors often lead group projects and can help suggest daily lesson plans. Counselors should be responsible, compassionate, patient, creative, energetic, and work well with others.

Art Team LeadThe Art Team Lead will head the art activity station that campers rotate through each day. The Art Team Lead will be responsible for meeting with the Camp Coordinator and Camp director prior to the start of all camps to decide on the art projects, create art supply lists, and help with supply shopping. She or he will also be responsible for leading a small team of staff, delegating daily tasks, and ensuring the art space is cared for and cleaned daily. The Art Team Lead is expected to work at and travel to all of the campsites for sessions 1-5.

Counselor Positions
Junior Counselor (15-17)Junior Counselors (JCs) help Counselors and Team Leads guide a group of 10-14 campers during their day, rotating through activities such as art, games, yoga, nature, and more. JCs get the chance to work one-on-one with campers and build strong relationships with the children in their group. JCs should be enthusiastic, compassionate, understanding, inclusive, creative, work well with others, and be willing to learn from mistakes.

Specialty Positions
Art Counselor/

Cooperative Games FacilitatorAs a Cooperative Games Facilitator, you'll lead campers through engaging, non-competitive games that promote teamwork and mutual success. Instead of being assigned to a specific group, you'll work at the Games Station, where all age groups rotate. Your role involves teaching and guiding campers in athletic and win-win games that foster cooperation, inclusion, and positive interaction.
Training will be provided before camp to familiarize you with our unique win-win games. This role is ideal for energetic individuals who enjoy active play and creating an inclusive, supportive environment. Special Guest
Special Guests come to camp to share a specific talent, experience, or gift. Special Guests can either present to the whole camp during opening or closing circle for a short time period, or they can present to each group individually over the course of several hours. Past Special Guests presented drumming, dance, storytelling, cultural experiences, and gardening skills.

Internships
Intern (18+)
Interning with Peace Camp will require the minimum commitment of 2 weeks. Main responsibilities will include leading or co-leading a group of campers, as a team leader would do, as well as helping behind the scenes with organization, administration, and the possibility of participating in other LFFP programs, such as at the McKenna Center (homeless shelter in DC) and various workshops. Interns may apply as volunteers or arrange class credit with their college or university. This experience would be valuable in particular to future teachers, social workers, child psychologists, and those interested in pursuing degrees in education or peace studies.
