Little Friends For Peace offers fall, spring, and summer internships at its DC location in a variety of roles that provide hands-on experience in a nonprofit dedicated to growing peace in our communities.
LFFP seeks motivated self-starters who will work part-time to assist LFFP in a variety of fields. Interns should be effective communicators with time management skills. The Administrative Assistant Intern will assist with all details of program delivery at sites determined by the ED and Program Coordinator. They will also manage contacts and assist with email blasts and mass mailings. This position also includes direct service in a variety of programs if the individual chooses to participate. Communications Internship

The Communications Intern will work on projects such as the newsletter and email blasts, as well as basic marketing and advertising for the organization. They will also manage all social media sites. They will work directly with the Administrative Assistant Intern to ensure that email blasts and other materials are sent to the proper individuals. They will also develop M&E processes and tools that produce high quality, actionable and shareable information. Summer Camp Internship

The Summer Camp Internship is a unique opportunity to be part of the LFFP family in an in-depth way. The first three to four weeks from mid-May to mid-June will be doing prep work for the LFFP Summer Camps. Responsibilities in this time include creating and organizing program material, reviewing lesson plans, helping with pre-camp paperwork (e.g. schedules, camper lists, staff lists), and helping with staff training, and site set-ups. The second part of the internship is direct service as a counselor at our camps. The hours will increase for this part as the camps are generally 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday through Friday. Interns will also be encouraged to help with an additional three to five hours of camp planning and follow-up each week as they take on more leadership roles.
