2025 in Review
Peace is possible when we rewire our brain with the nonviolent tools of peace. In 2025, we imagined peace and created change as we joined peacemakers of all ages around the world — in classrooms and shelters; at Peace Camp, our Peace Room, and the Peace Oasis; in shelters and community centers; in our virtual programming; and beyond. As we look back on 2025 and ahead to 2026, we do believe that we can create a new world order and live in peace.
These are challenging times, uncertain times, chaotic times — but times to use our peace skills and dig deep in our hearts to see how we can create something new and beautiful out of the chaos.

LFFP led virtual Peace Circles with Ugandan women who are victims of domestic violence, offering them a safe space to share their stories and receive support. We also led virtual Peace Classes with Ugandan students, who were eager to share their own peace songs and practices. In November, students at a Peace Class in Maryland connected with students in Uganda for an intercontinental Peace Class featuring nine nationalities

We are building a generation of young people that will be peace ambassadors that will move in their society to support, encourage, and spread the news of peace.

Vincentian Amigos on the Periphery
LFFP partnered with Vincentian Amigos on the Periphery to serve Latino families in the Maryland and D.C. area. Students and families in the Amigos program participated in LFFP virtual tutoring sessions, 16 weeks of Peace Class at the Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle, Peace Camp, retreats at the Peace Oasis, and virtual parenting classes. LFFP provided listening sessions and material aid to families as a way to spead peace, joy, and hope in the face of ICE's culture of fear and violence.

Students seem to have more self-esteem after Peace Class. When we do an art project in Peace Class, I make sure to find a place to display it in the classroom so the kids can remember how much fun they had and let the classroom find grounding in peace.

McKenna men remind us by their example to be grateful for another day of life, a listening ear, and a place to rest. They often share that they hear MJ’s voice in their heads guiding them to avoid potential conflicts around D.C. Together, we are learning to be patient with ourselves and others and that all our voices are cherished.

Liberty (left) joined our Peace Circles in August and has been a steady participant ever since. He is recovering from the trauma of incarceration. We are inspired by his vulnerability, self awareness, and patience.
LFFP has offered the environment where I can just fully heal. We feel comfortable in our ability to share our stories without chastisement and without judgment. It’s definitely a peaceful miracle. I’m a testament to it. |
