October 2018-December 2018: Application rolling Supervised by: Development Coordinator Job Summary: The Database and Development Intern will work on projects such as organizing the donor database and assisting the Development Coordinator with researching potential donors. They will work directly with the Communications and Media Intern to ensure that email blasts and other material is sent to the proper individuals. This position includes direct service in the after school program if the individual chooses to participate.
Duties: Assist with database entry and organization. Must be comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Vertical Response. This includes keeping track of when people donate. For example, if someone donated 2 years ago but not last year, you want to categorize them so they receive personalized emails and information that attracts them back to the organization. They should also be categorized based on how much they give and how frequently. Top donors should receive perks such as a free calendar or special guest invitations to the Spring event. Once donors are categorized, they should be entered this way into Vertical Response so that they receive the appropriate emails. Assist the Development Coordinator with researching potential donors. LFFP runs entirely on donations and support from people who believe in its mission. It is important that the Database and Development Intern works with the Development Coordinator on finding outside support to continue LFFP’s legacy. Assist with after school program. As an intern, it is preferred that this individual fully understands LFFP’s mission by engaging in direct service.
