Our peace is broken with the sudden loss of Zach, our peace is coming from his light, our Holy one and our LFFP community. Zach- peace camper, JCIT, CIT, Counselor and Lead Counselor of Little Friends For Peace.
The cooperative games helper, the music man, the listener, the guider, the guy who had all of our code words and peace tools and put them in action, who helped other campers to find their peace, to share their peace and solve problems peacefully. Zach grew from Peace Child to Peace Leader and he did it all with great drive, intentionality, and JOY.
I can hear him say: "MJ , whatever you and Jerry need, I am there." Zach wanted to do Peace Camp and he never missed a summer. Zach was there in the morning setting up, helping get the bins out for the lunches, and making sure games were ready to go. He would stay for debrief and reflect on the sweets and sours of the day and most of all: how can we make it better.
I can still hear him sing the song "Lean on Me". Zach we are leaning on you now. We need your light, your spirit, your drive, and your compassion that you gave so much of.
Zach, Little Friends For Peace honors you with the Peacemaker Award and we are going to start a Peace Camp Scholarship Fund in your honor, The Zach Misleh Peacemaker Award.
We will miss you at LFFP Peace Camps and especially in Mt. Rainier where you never missed a summer. We will keep your spirit and light alive and feel your energy as we try to grow peace in our hurting world and help cultivate Peacemakers like you. Thank you Zach for all you are and all you did and we will miss you , but we will carry your torch and light high.
